Asghar Jameel

Asghar Jameel serves as the Group Head of People at VEON since June 2018, leading human resources efforts for a global digital operator that connects nearly 160 million customers across six markets. Previous roles at VEON include Group Director of HR Special Projects and Chief People Officer for VEON Ventures. Jameel's prior experience includes Chief HR Officer at Jazz, a leading telecom operator in Pakistan, and various HR leadership positions at Nokia and Ericsson, where responsibilities encompassed talent management, organization design, and multi-country HR project management. Jameel holds an MBA in HR & IT from COMSATS Institute of Information and Technology, an LLB from the University of the Punjab, and several advanced HR certifications, including the Chief Human Resources Officer Program from Wharton Executive Education.
