Saravanan Bellan

Saravanan Bellan has over 25 years of work experience in the software engineering industry. Saravanan began their career in 1994 as a Trainee Systems Executive at Pryeeah Software Services. Saravanan then worked as a Consultant at Genisys Integrating Systems and as a Principal Consultant at Genisys Software in 1995. In 1998, Saravanan worked as a Senior Consultant at Spectra Software, followed by a Software Engineer role at siteROCK in 1999. In 2001, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Jareva. From 2002 to 2010, Saravanan worked at Symantec as a Senior Software Engineer and Principal Software Engineer. In 2010, they took on a Senior Integration Engineer (Contract) role at Yahoo. From 2015 to present, Saravanan has been working at VeraHQ as a Software Engineer Technical Lead, where they have been responsible for cluster architecture for File Share Connector (FSC) component, design abstraction layer for Storage and Collaboration API, contribute to SmbJ open source library, work on various FSC 2.0 initiatives, and create prototypes of k8s/Docker deployments for Server and connectors.

Saravanan Bellan received a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communications from the Coimbatore Institute of Technology between 1990 and 1994. Saravanan also has a number of certifications from Coursera and edX, such as Functional Programming Principles in Scala (obtained in May 2013), Introduction to Big Data with Apache Spark, Introduction to Computer Science and Programming Using Python, Introduction to Systematic Program Design - Part 1, Pattern-Oriented Software Architectures: Programming Mobile Services for Android Handheld Systems, Principles of Reactive Programming, Programming Languages, and Programming Mobile Applications for Android Handheld Systems.
