Amir Tavafi has a diverse range of work experience in the fields of product development, machine learning, software development, and robotics. Amir currently works at Verafin as the Head of Product Development - Fraud Detection & Management. Prior to this, they held roles such as Director, Product Lead - Fraud Detection & Management and Product Manager at Verafin. Amir also worked as a Technical Lead on the Machine Learning Team and as a Software Developer focusing on analytics.

Before joining Verafin, Amir worked at Memorial University of Newfoundland as a Research Assistant at the Bio-Inspired Computing Lab and as a Teaching Assistant. Amir also co-founded the Robotics Department at Marlik Institute of Innovation and Technology, where they served as the Head of Robotics Department.

Following their high school graduation, Amir enrolled at the University of Guilan, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Software Engineering. This educational endeavor lasted from 2008 until 2013, allowing him to gain in-depth knowledge and expertise in the field.

With a thirst for further learning, Amir pursued a Master's Degree in Computer Science at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Amir attended this institution from 2014 to 2016, focusing on enhancing their understanding of the subject matter. During this period, Amir also engaged in additional training programs to expand their skillset. In 2015, they completed the Genesis Evolution Program offered by the Genesis Centre, followed by the completion of an Entrepreneurship Training Program at Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2016.
