Jessica Sligar has an extensive work experience in the field of project management and scientific research. Jessica began their career as a Medicinal Chemistry Co-op at Astra Arcus USA in 1997, where they performed multi-step preparation of various compounds and analyzed them using analytical methods such as HPLC, NMR, and LC/MS. Jessica then worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Rochester Institute of Technology, where they synthesized thymidine analogs for anti-tumor use and analyzed materials using HPLC, LC/MS, and NMR. At AstraZeneca, they served as a Medicinal Chemistry Co-op and worked on the preparation and purification of different inhibitors, monitoring them through various analytical methods. Jessica continued their education as a Graduate Research Assistant at UNC-Charlotte, where they designed and synthesized chiral auxiliaries and utilized chiral HPLC for separation. Jessica then progressed in their career as an Advanced Scientist in Drug Discovery Chemistry at SCYNEXIS, Inc., synthesizing compound libraries and monitoring reactions and purity using HPLC, LC/MS, and NMR. Jessica also worked at Avista Pharma Solutions as an Advanced Scientist II in Process Development. At Cambrex, they held multiple roles, including Advanced Scientist II, Senior Scientist, and Project Manager. Finally, they are currently a Project Manager at Johnson Matthey and has also worked as both a Project Manager and Project Manager II at Veranova.
