Walter Chmela

Walter Chmela is an experienced music educator and musician with a long-standing career spanning over two decades. Since October 2005, Walter has served as a Music Teacher at Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien, specializing in piano for popular music, teaching practice, solo repetition, and music therapy ensemble leadership. In addition to this role, Walter has been a musician with Vereinigte Bühnen Wien since September 2000 and has performed as a pianist in various musicals since 1999, including notable productions such as "Evita," "Mary Poppins," and "Tanz der Vampire." As a self-employed Musical Director since 1998, Walter has led numerous musical projects, including children's musicals and workshops. Furthermore, Walter contributed as a Music Teacher at Musikschule der Stadt Tulln until August 2020, teaching piano and band coaching. Walter Chmela holds a degree from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, completed in 2001.
