Carolina Garri

Carolina Garri, MS, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning across multiple prestigious institutions. Carolina is currently an Associate Principal Scientist at Verge Genomics, a position they have held since 2023. Prior to this, Carolina worked at the Lawrence J. Ellison Institute for Transformative Medicine, where they served as a Staff Scientist in various departments, including Translational Research and Strategic Collaborations & Innovation. Carolina also held the role of Senior Research Associate at the same institution. Before joining the Ellison Institute, Carolina worked as a Research Lab Specialist at the Lawrence J. Ellison Institute for Transformative Medicine of USC. Carolina has also gained experience as a Senior Laboratory Specialist at Universidad de Chile, a Junior Specialist at UCSF and HHMI, and a Research Assistant at Fundacion Ciencia & Vida, University of Chile, University Andrés Bello, and University of Santiago. Carolina's work experience showcases their expertise in various areas of research, including translational medicine, biochemistry, molecular biology, and microbiology.

Carolina Garri holds a PhD in Biotechnology from the University Andrés Bello, Faculty of Health, which they obtained between 2009 and 2014. Prior to their PhD, they completed a Master's degree in Biochemistry at the same institution from 2005 to 2007. Carolina also completed a Bachelor's degree in Biochemist, Biochemist from the University Andrés Bello, Faculty of Health, from 2002 to 2005. Carolina'searlier education includes studying at the University of Chile, Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmaceuticals Science from 1999 to 2002, and at the University of Chile, Faculty of Science from 1997 to 1999. In addition to their academic achievements, they have obtained a certification in the HSI training program from the American Safety & Health Institute in March 2022.
