Guillermo Ulises Ruiz-Esparza MD, PhD, FRSA has worked in a variety of roles in the academic and research sectors since 2016. Guillermo Ulises has been a Scientist at Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology, and Brigham and Women's Hospital. In 2018, they co-founded VERI Nano and in 2020 they became a Member Board of Directors for Enactus Mexico, an Advisory Board Member for Prothesia, and an Advisory Board Member for The Clinical Engineer Hub. Additionally, they have been a Judge for the MIT TR35 Award since 2016 and a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA) since 2015.

Guillermo Ulises Ruiz-Esparza MD, PhD, FRSA obtained their Bachelor's degree in Biosciences (Biochemistry and Molecular Biology) from Tecnológico de Monterrey between 2006 and 2011. Guillermo Ulises then obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the same institution in 2016. Subsequently, they completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Harvard-MIT Program in Health Sciences and Technology in 2018, where they studied Bio and Nano Materials for Medical Applications. Prior to this, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biotechnology - Nanomedicine from the Houston Methodist Hospital - Tecnologico de Monterrey Joint M.D./Ph.D. Program between 2011 and 2014. In 2013, they also obtained an Introduction to the Principles and Practice of Clinical Research certification from the National Institutes of Health.
