Brett Broadwater has held various roles in the legal field throughout their career. Brett started as an Attorney at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in 2008 and worked there until 2014. From 2014 to 2016, they served as an Attorney at Zuckerman Spaeder LLP. Brett then joined JONES DAY® as an Attorney from 2016 to 2019. In 2019, they transitioned to RetailMeNot, Inc. and held the position of Senior Counsel, Business & Technology until 2020. During this time, they also served as Senior Counsel, Business & Technology at RxSaver by RetailMeNot. In 2020, Brett became an Associate General Counsel at RxSaver, Inc. & Vericast Corp., and in 2021, they were promoted to Vice President, Associate General Counsel - IP & Technology at Vericast.

Brett Broadwater received their Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Berkeley, where they studied from 2005 to 2008. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Literature from the University of Utah, where they attended from 2000 to 2004.
