Lance Hayden

Lance Hayden, Ph.D. has extensive work experience in information security and strategy. Lance is currently serving as the VP and Chief Information Security Strategist at Vericast. Prior to this, they held various roles including Faculty at the University of Texas, Advisor at Living Security and Multicoin Capital, Director of Information Security at RetailMeNot, Inc., Chief Privacy & Security Officer at Elligo Health Research and ePatientFinder, and Managing Director at Berkeley Research Group LLC. Lance also has a background in managing solutions architecture and security programs at Cisco. Earlier in their career, they worked as a HUMINT Operations Officer at the Central Intelligence Agency, where they were responsible for planning and conducting intelligence operations in support of national security.

Lance Hayden, Ph.D. has an extensive education background. Lance earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History from The University of New Mexico in 1991. In 1997, they obtained a Master of Library and Information Science degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Lance continued their education at The University of Texas at Austin, completing their Ph.D. in Information Science in 2009. Additionally, they hold several certifications in the field of information security, including the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
