James Boron

James Boron, MD, FACS, FCCP has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of surgery. James'smost recent position is serving as the Senior Medical Director for Burn Care at Vericel Corporation since January 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an Acute Care Attending Surgeon at Health First from November 2020 to December 2021. Before joining Health First, they held the same role at Wellstar Health System from July 2018 to October 2020. James also served as a Burn Attending Surgeon at OSF Saint Anthony's Health Center from August 2017 to June 2018. From July 2015 to June 2017, they worked as a Trauma and Burn Attending Surgeon at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where they also completed fellowships in Burn Surgery, Trauma Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care. James began their career as a General Surgery Resident and Intern at WellStar Atlanta Medical Center from July 2010 to June 2015.

James Boron, MD, FACS, FCCP obtained their Bachelor's degree in Health and Exercise Sciences from Wake Forest University in 2006. James then pursued their Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Florida State University, completing their degree in 2010. Dr. Boron has achieved several additional certifications including Certification in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care Certification from the American Board of Surgery in 2016 and 2017 respectively. James is also recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, with both titles being obtained in 2020.
