Kevin Markley

Kevin Markley has a diverse work experience spanning over several years.

Kevin'smost recent position was as the Director SRE - FedRAMP, Security and Compliance at Veritas Technologies LLC, starting in May 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Cloud Security Lead Architect from March 2022 to May 2023.

Before joining Veritas Technologies LLC, Kevin worked at TigerConnect as a Sr DevSecOps from January 2021 to March 2022. In this role, they collaborated with DevOps and engineering teams to build platforms and systems supporting enterprise cloud solutions, ensuring compliance and regulatory standards were met.

From 2020 until 2021, Kevin was a Senior Security Engineer at BlueOwl, LLC. Kevin focused on developing tooling, policies, and processes for intrusion detection, incident response, endpoint protection, and network security. Kevin also worked with external teams to identify and address security improvements.

Kevin's leadership experience includes serving as the Chief Technology Officer at Project Blackadder from September 2019 to January 2021. During this time, they provided strategic guidance and oversight for technology-related initiatives.

At their initial tenure with Veritas Technologies LLC starting from October 2017 and ending in January 2020, Kevin held the position of Principal Cloud Security Architect. Kevin collaborated with IT and Product Security teams to design and implement secure cloud architectures, emphasizing automation and a DevSecOps culture.

Before that, Kevin worked as a Cloud Development Engineer at REAN Cloud from November 2016 to October 2017, where they consulted with large enterprise companies to plan, implement, and deploy cloud infrastructure systems.

Prior to that, Kevin served as a DevOps Engineer at Kibo Commerce from May 2016 to November 2016. Kevin focused on maintaining and developing a multi-region cloud infrastructure, implementing infrastructure as code and a fully automated CD/CI Pipeline.

In their earlier years, Kevin worked as a Freelance AV Technician from July 2002 to July 2016, gaining experience in live production environments.

Kevin also worked as an IT Consultant at California Polytechnic State University from November 2014 to May 2016, ensuring users had correct access privileges and resolving technical issues.

Lastly, Kevin worked as a HelpDesk Support at Lanlogic from April 2013 to November 2014, providing technical support for various IT systems and networks.

Overall, Kevin has held various technical and leadership roles throughout their career, focusing on areas such as cloud security, DevOps, and infrastructure management.

Kevin Markley attended California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 2002 to 2005, where they studied Environmental Horticulture. In 2007 to 2008, they received a Certificate in Music from the School of Worship. Kevin also obtained an Associate's Degree in Sociology from Foothill College. Additionally, Kevin Markley obtained certifications including "347 Enabling Office 365 Services" from Microsoft in 2014 and "Comptia A+" in September 2013.
