Dirk Hohndel

Dirk Hohndel is an experienced technology leader with a robust background in open source initiatives, currently serving as the Head of the Open Source Program Office at Verizon since October 2022. Hohndel is also the Founder of DH Consulting and a Strategic Advisor at CIQ, which focuses on combining High Performance Computing with enterprise needs. Previously, Hohndel held significant positions such as Chief Open Source Officer at VMware and Chief Linux and Open Source Technologist at Intel. Additional roles have included serving on the Board of Directors of The Linux Foundation, where Hohndel was an elected member representing the Gold Sponsor class and acted as Secretary. Hohndel has contributed to various open source projects and strategic initiatives throughout a career that spans several decades, coupled with a strong academic background in Mathematics and Computer Science from The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg.
