Shawn Edwards

Shawn Edwards is an experienced cybersecurity professional with a strong background in offensive security and adversary emulation. Currently serving as a Principal Red Team Operator at Verizon since September 2024, Shawn previously held leadership roles at White Knight Labs and Humana, where significant contributions included the development of security control validation tests and a world-class Breach and Attack Simulation program. Shawn's expertise extends to previous positions at SCYTHE, Sony, and MITRE, where roles involved directing adversary emulation exercises, developing cyber red team tools, and supporting government agencies in defensive cyber operations. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from The University of Alabama in Huntsville, Shawn has a solid foundation in programming and systems analysis, further enhanced by early experiences in the US Army Red Team and other organizations.
