Joe Colangelo

Joe Colangelo serves as the Town Manager for the Town of Shelburne, Vermont, since April 2014, while also teaching as an instructor at the University of Vermont in the Department of Community Development & Applied Economics. Colangelo has a rich background in local government, having held roles such as Town Administrator in Hinesburg and Assistant Town Manager in Middlebury. Additionally, Colangelo has been involved with the Vermont League of Cities and Towns as a board member for both the Employee Resources & Benefits Trust and the Unemployment Insurance Trust. Colangelo's academic credentials include a Master of Public Administration, focusing on Public Finance & Economics, and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. Further leadership training was completed through the Vermont Leadership Institute. Colangelo's early career includes internships and positions in municipal management and civic service.
