James Clements

James Clements has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and institutions. James is currently working as the Head of Technical Transfer at Vernal Biosciences since 2022. Prior to that, they held various positions at Athenex from 2015 to 2022, including Director of Project Management, Senior Director of Cell Therapy Immunology, and Project Manager. Before joining Athenex, they worked at Kinex Pharmaceuticals from 2008 to 2015 as the Assistant Director of Immunology, focusing on new drug discovery in areas of immunosuppression and anti-inflammatories. James also served as an Assistant Member of Immunology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute from 2000 to 2008. Their career started as a Lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania in 1999, and prior to that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Iowa from 1994 to 1999. Overall, James Clements has accumulated extensive experience in project management, drug discovery, and immunology throughout their career.

James Clements obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Bates College, where they attended from 1985 to 1989. Following this, they pursued their PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology at the University of Vermont for five years, from 1989 to 1994.
