As Senior Director, Communication, Joel oversees and guides all communications activities at Verra, including strategic and executive communications, as well as media relations.

Joel brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in both communications as well as environmental and sustainable development topics to this position.

He has 20 years of experience in strategic communications and an extensive background in organizational positioning and branding. Joel is a proven innovator in online outreach to elite audiences and target constituencies. He has an excellent reputation with the national environmental media corps and has delivered top-tier and targeted media across a variety of issue areas, with hands-on experience in dozens of earned and paid media relations tactics.

Prior to running his own communications consultancy (Brightstone Strategy), Joel worked with Climate Advisers, Fenton Communications, and the National Environmental Trust, among others.
