Cciex2 Thomas McKinnon

Thomas McKinnon is a CCIEx2 professional with a strong background in networking. Thomas began their career in 2006 as a Network Service Engineer Intern at Sprint, where they gained valuable experience in network services. Thomas continued to work at Sprint in various roles, including Network Traffic Engineer, Network Engineer Intern, and IP Operations Engineering - Network Engineer II, where they provided tier III level support and troubleshooting for complex technical problems.

In 2010, Thomas joined Sprint Nextel as an IPSA Network Engineer I, focusing on managing services for high-profile customers and proactively addressing technical issues. Thomas then made a transition to Cisco in 2014, starting as a Network Consulting Engineer in the Advanced Services Global Delivery Centers. During their time at Cisco, they also worked as a Solutions Architect and Technical Solutions Architect, showcasing their expertise in designing and implementing network solutions.

Most recently, Thomas joined Versa Networks in 2021 as a Senior System Engineer, where they continue to contribute their skills and knowledge in the field. Overall, Thomas has a strong work history in the networking industry, showcasing their dedication and expertise in various roles throughout their career.

Thomas McKinnon, CCIEx2, obtained their Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Psychology from Missouri University of Science and Technology. Thomas attended the university from 2005 to 2010.

In addition to their formal education, Thomas has acquired several certifications in the field of networking. Thomas obtained their CCIE Routing and Switching certification from Cisco in May 2014, and also holds the CCIE Service Provider certification, which they obtained in January 2015.

Thomas has further certifications from Cisco, including CCNA certification obtained in February 2011, CCNA - Voice certification obtained in January 2013, and CCNP certification obtained in October 2012. Thomas also holds certifications as a Cisco Data Center Storage Networking Support Specialist obtained in September 2011, and a Cisco IOS XR Specialist obtained in July 2014.

Furthermore, Thomas is a Versa Certified SD-WAN Associate, having obtained the certification from Versa Networks in August 2022.
