Rob Sambursky, MD

Rob Sambursky, MD has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Rob currently serves as the President of Verséa Health since August 2022. Prior to this, they were the Founder and Director of Visus Therapeutics, Inc. starting from October 2019. Rob also worked as a Cornea and Infectious Disease Specialist focusing on Cornea, Cataract, and Refractive Surgery at Coastal Eye Institute since July 2005.

Dr. Sambursky holds various positions at Lumos Diagnostics, including Chief Medical Advisor since August 2022, Founder, President, and Chief Medical Officer from April to August 2022, and Founder, President & Chief Executive Officer from May 2019 to April 2022. Lumos Diagnostics specializes in rapid, cost-effective point-of-care diagnostic test technology for medical conditions.

Additionally, Dr. Sambursky served as a Director at PPK Solutions since January 2014. PPK Solutions is an emerging developer of advanced diagnostic devices for agriculture, food, and water supplies. Rob was also a Consultant at Quidel from June 2017 to May 2020.

Lastly, Dr. Sambursky has a long history with RPS Diagnostics. Rob held multiple roles including Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer, Director, and Chief Medical Officer. Rob started with RPS Diagnostics as the Chief Medical Officer in January 2002 and remained there until May 2011. From May 2011 to July 2017, they served as the President, Chief Executive Officer, and Executive Chair. Rob also had a brief stint as the President and Chief Executive Officer from July 2012 to July 2017, and as the Founder, President, and Chief Medical Officer from July 2017 to March 2018.

Rob Sambursky, MD completed their Bachelor's degree in Biology at Brown University from 1990 to 1994. Rob then pursued a Master's degree in Medical Sciences at Boston University School of Medicine from 1994 to 1996. Following this, they attended Boston University School of Medicine once again from 1996 to 2000 and obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. To further specialize in their field, from 2000 to 2001, they completed an MD Internship in Internal Medicine at Mount Auburn Hospital. Subsequently, they joined Wills Eye Hospital for their MD Residency in Ophthalmology from 2001 to 2004. Rob further enhanced their expertise in Ophthalmology by completing an MD Fellowship in Cornea & External Disease at Wills Eye Hospital from 2001 to 2005.
