Cory Johannsen

Cory Johannsen has over 20 years of experience in software engineering. Cory'smost recent role was as a Senior Software Engineer at Verta since October 2020. Prior to that, they worked at New Relic, Inc. for six years, starting as a Senior Software Engineer in May 2014 and later becoming a Lead Software Engineer in April 2017.

Before joining New Relic, Inc., Cory served as a Software Engineering Team Lead at VendScreen from September 2012 to May 2014. In this role, they were responsible for architecting and implementing the Java enterprise application layer of the company's core product in an Amazon Web Services environment.

From September 2011 to September 2012, Cory worked as a Sr. Software Engineer at Care Innovations, an Intel GE joint venture. Cory focused on mobile embedded systems software engineering, working on Android tablet systems and developing both Java applications and C++ native code.

Prior to that, Cory worked at McDonald Technologies from July 2006 to September 2011 as a Software Engineer in Product Design. Cory'sresponsibilities included embedded systems engineering, software development, and project planning.

Cory began their career at Northrop Grumman Space & Mission Systems as a Software Engineer, where they worked from February 2004 to July 2006. Cory also worked at Redpoint Technologies as a Sr. Software Engineer from July 2001 to January 2003.

Cory held positions as a Sr. Software Engineer at LeapNet from June 2000 to June 2001, as a Software Engineer II at SPR, Inc from 1999 to 2001, and as a Software Engineer at nVISIA from 1998 to 2001.

Cory Johannsen attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1993 to 1998, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
