Bahar Bilgen

Bahar Bilgen currently serves as a Principal Scientist at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, focusing on Translational Engineering within Vertex Cell and Gene Therapy since March 2022. Previously, Bahar held the position of Assistant Professor of Orthopaedics at Brown University from March 2006 to June 2021, where significant contributions included managing a research program in musculoskeletal tissue engineering and receiving the VA Career Development Award. Additional roles included Research Scientist at Rhode Island Hospital and University Orthopedics, as well as teaching positions at UMass Dartmouth. Bahar's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University and postdoctoral training in Tissue Engineering from Brown University.
