Lesley Derenzo

Lesley DeRenzo is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in the healthcare sector. Currently serving as Senior Director & Assistant General Counsel at Vertex Pharmaceuticals since January 2020, DeRenzo has held various roles including Director & Senior Legal Counsel and Associate Director & Legal Counsel within the same organization. Prior to this, DeRenzo was Regulatory Counsel at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and served as Sr. Health Science Policy Advisor & Congressional Liaison at The National Institutes of Health. Additional experience includes serving as an Associate Attorney at McDermott Will & Emery and various legal positions at academic and governmental institutions, with a focus on health policy. DeRenzo holds a J.D. magna cum laude from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and a Certificate in Legislative Studies from The Government Affairs Institute at Georgetown University.
