Derk Smid

Derk Smid has a diverse and extensive work experience. Derk started their career in 1997 as the EMEA Marketing Manager at ExxonMobil. Derk then joined ALTANA Chemie - ACTEGA RHENANIA in 2002, where they held various roles, including Vice President Sales and Marketing and Director of Strategy, Marketing, and New Business Development. In 2007, they became the Managing Director of Schwarze Rose GmbH, and also started their own company as the Managing Director and Agent for South America for Actega - Altana. In 2015, they also worked as the Director of New Business Development at Mami Beteiligungs GmbH. Derk later joined Stauf Klebstoffwerk GmbH as the New Business Development Director, and Vetch Pro GmbH as a Consultant for Business Development Director. Derk then worked at Cellresin Technologies, LLC as a Consultant for Market Development Europe. Currently, they serve as the Head of Business Development at Vertoro.

Derk Smid completed their Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management from the University of Maryland from 1983 to 1986. Derk then pursued a Masters Degree in Business Management and Computing from Boston University, completing it from 1986 to 1988.
