Matthew Hildner has a diverse range of work experience in various engineering roles. Matthew is currently employed as a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Verus® Research, a position they have held since February 2023. Prior to this, from June 2021 to January 2023, Matthew worked as a Senior Hardware Engineer at Azul 3D, Inc. Additionally, they served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Michigan - Rackham Graduate School from August 2017 to May 2021, where they also worked as a Shop Manager for the Center for Socially Engaged Design during the same time period. Matthew also gained industry experience as a Visiting Scholar at Dow from February 2020 to May 2020. Earlier in their career, they worked as an Additive Manufacturing Engineer at Ford Motor Company on a consulting project with the Tauber Institute of Global Operations from May 2018 to August 2018. Matthew started their engineering career as an Engineer at RightHand Robotics, Inc for a brief period from May 2017 to August 2017. Before that, they worked as a Research and Development Engineer and a Consulting Engineer at LJ Star Incorporated from June 2015 to May 2017 and from November 2013 to June 2015, respectively. Matthew also gained experience as an Engineering Intern at Ethicon, Inc. in the summer of 2014. As a student, Matthew worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant from February 2012 to May 2014.
Matthew Hildner pursued their education in a chronological order, starting with obtaining a High School Diploma from Oswego East in 2011. Matthew then went on to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology between 2011 and 2015. Continuing their academic journey, Matthew pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan - Rackham Graduate School, which they completed between 2017 and 2021.
