Liam Cornell is a senior scientist, editing and discovery at Verve Therapeutics. He has over 10 years of molecular biology experience, in academia and the biotechnology industry. Prior to joining Verve, he worked as a scientist at CRISPR Therapeutics, where he supported hematology and in-vivo programs. He received his Ph.D., in molecular oncology, from Newcastle University, UK. Here, he researched the role of DNA repair in liver cancer and showed the potential therapeutic benefit of its inhibition. He then completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute where he discovered a novel resistance mechanism to CDK4/6 inhibitors in breast cancer.
