Seka Lazare

Seka Lazare is the current Associate Director of Next Generation Sequencing at Verve Therapeutics. Seka has always been passionate about biology and genetics and has worked in the field for over 10 years. Seka started their career as a Research Associate at Illumina, where they worked for three years before becoming a Manager of Scientific Research. In this role, they oversaw a team of scientists and was responsible for developing and executing research projects.

In 2018, Seka left Illumina to take on a new challenge as a Postdoctoral Researcher at La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology. In this role, they implemented and managed in vivo functional stem cell and immunology studies. Seka also gene manipulated via CRISPR and lentiviral techniques to model SNPS and gene candidates.

Seka is an expert in their field and has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals. In addition to their scientific work, Seka is also an active speaker and has presented their work at international conferences.

Seka Lazare reports to Sekar Kathiresan, Co-Founder & CEO. They work with Andrew Bellinger - Chief Scientific Officer & Chief Medical Officer, Derek Sethachutkul - Senior Director, External Manufacturing, and Leslie Stolz - SVP, Regulatory Affairs.
