Yang Jiao

Yang Jiao is a senior scientist, editing and discovery at Verve Therapeutics, with expertise in CRISPR/Cas9 screening and cell-based assays. She brings 10 years of research experience, from both academia and industry, in the fields of liver cancer, Type 2 Diabetes, and other metabolic diseases. Dr. Jiao has authored and co-authored a dozen publications. Prior to joining Verve, she was a scientist at CRISPR Therapeutics, where she developed functional assays and helped advance the in vivo liver editing programs. Dr. Jiao received a Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied genes and pathways regulating pancreatic beta cell proliferation. She completed post-doctoral training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, investigating liver cancer driver genes by shRNA screening and gene signatures predictive of immunotherapy.
