Grace Yu

Grace Yu, PhD has extensive work experience in various data science and geophysics roles. Grace is currently working at Vesta as a Data Science Manager, where they started in June 2023 after holding the position of Sr. Data Scientist from January 2023 to June 2023. Prior to Vesta, they were a Sr. Data Scientist at Early Warning® from June 2022 to January 2023 and a Data Scientist from June 2021 to June 2022.

Before transitioning into the data science field, Yu worked as a Data Analyst II at the Railroad Commission of Texas from February 2021 to June 2021, where they developed Python ArcGIS tools, conducted data analysis, and created Power BI dashboards.

Grace also has significant experience in the geophysics industry, having worked as a Sr. Geophysicist at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation from June 2013 to December 2019. Yu's early career involved academic positions at the University of Houston and Rice University. At the University of Houston, they worked as a Teaching Assistant from January 2010 to January 2013, where they conducted research on rock properties in the continental shelf of the Gulf of Mexico. At Rice University, they were a Postdoctoral Research Associate from May 2007 to May 2008.
