João Pedro Ferreira

João Pedro Ferreira has a solid background in engineering, with a focus on loads and control. João Pedro started their career at INEGI Porto as a research fellow, where they worked in the Sea Technologies Group from September 2013 to December 2015. João Pedro then joined the University of Minho as a research fellow at the Department of Mechanical Engineering for six months in 2016. In 2017, they moved on to work at FS Dynamics as an FEA Engineer, specializing in structural evaluation of mechanical components in various industries. In 2019, João Pedro Ferreira joined Vestas as an Engineer, responsible for loads evaluation and certification for their onshore platform. João Pedro then progressed to Assistant Lead in Loads & Control in 2021 and currently holds the position of Lead Engineer - Loads & Control since August 2023. During their time at Vestas, João Pedro Ferreira played a key role in the development of the V174-9.6MW offshore turbine.

João Pedro Ferreira holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, which they completed from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Licentiate degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidade do Minho, where they studied from 2008 to 2011. Additionally, João Pedro Ferreira has obtained the Vestas Regional Talent Programme 2022-2023 certification from Vestas in June 2023.
