Yakun Weng

Yakun Weng has extensive experience in the tech industry. Starting in 2006, they worked as a Senior Developer at Gen-X Technology Sdn Bhd, where they used open source J2EE technology to upgrade SMS/MMS content provider systems and led the development of an UGC Web 2.0 site for Malaysia food lovers with Ruby on Rails. In 2009, they took on the role of Lead Developer and CTO at Sunway Technology Co., Ltd, where they were the product manager and developer of two famous apps. In 2012, they moved to Qiji Human Resource Management Co., Ltd, where they were the Lead Developer and CTO, leading the IT team in developing a sophisticated corporation management web system for Sichuan Airlines with Ruby on Rails, Angular.js and Node.JS. From 2016 to 2018, they worked at Xero, Foster Moore - The Registry People and Devoli, taking on roles such as Senior Front End Developer, Senior Product Developer and Senior Software Engineer respectively. In 2020, they became the Head of Development at Laminar, and most recently in 2021, they took on the role of Founding Fullstack Engineer at Veza.

Yakun Weng has a Graduate Diploma in Software Development from Unitec, obtained in 2015. Yakun also has a Diploma in Computerise and Management Accounting from Sichuan University, obtained between 2001 and 2003. Additionally, they have obtained certifications from LinkedIn (Developing Secure Software, 2019), ICAgile (ICP, 2016), and Microsoft (MCDBA).
