Sarah Moffatt Stephens is a Country Director at Viamo, focusing on leveraging mobile technology to provide essential services, particularly affordable legal support to underserved communities in Tanzania. In addition to this role, Sarah serves as a Senior Lecturer in Legal Innovation at the University of Sussex and is a member of the Online Procedure Rules Committee for the Ministry of Justice UK. Sarah is a PhD candidate in Justice Technology at the Institute of Development Studies and acts as a Trustee and Chair of the Development Committee at The Access to Justice Foundation, advocating for sustainable funding in the pro-bono justice sector. Previous positions include Technical Consultant at the United Nations Capital Development Fund and Human Rights Advisor at the United Nations Office of Project Services, among others. Sarah holds a PhD in Law, Technology and Development, a Master’s in Human Rights Law, and a Bachelor’s in Psychology.
