Ryan Anderson

Ryan Anderson has a diverse range of work experience in the field of spatial analysis and GIS. Ryan is currently working as a Spatial Analyst at Vibrant Planet since June 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Western EcoSystems Technology, Inc. (WEST) as a Programming Analyst/GIS Analyst from February 2017 to June 2022.

Ryan also served as a Research Associate II at the Natural Resource Ecology Laboratory, Colorado State University, from November 2013 to February 2017. Before that, they worked at Science Systems and Applications, Inc. as a Team Lead/Member, NASA DEVELOP Program Contractor from June 2012 to August 2014. In this role, they led research projects focused on GIS and remote sensing for environmental purposes.

Further back, Ryan was a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Wyoming from August 2011 to May 2013. Ryan also worked as a Research Assistant in Ethiopia for the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) in July and August 2011, conducting field research and collecting data for various research projects.

In addition, Ryan worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Wyoming from October 2010 to May 2011, where they focused on data management using ArcGIS for a forest composition reconstruction project. Ryan also interned at the Wyoming Department of Agriculture as a Mediation Program Intern from February to October 2010, primarily handling data management and reviewing environmental assessments.

Before that, Ryan gained research experience as a Research Assistant in Panama for the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in July and August 2010. Their work included data collection on the Agua Salud Project Site, which contributed to their undergraduate research project on spatial analysis of teak trees.

Ryan Anderson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography with a focus on GIS, Natural Resource Management, and Environment and Natural Resources from the University of Wyoming. Ryan was enrolled in the Honors Program during this period, from 2007 to 2011. Following this, Ryan pursued a Master's Degree in Geography with a specialization in GIS and Spatial Modeling from the University of Wyoming from 2011 to 2014.
