Ewoud Veltmeijer

Ewoud Veltmeijer has had a diverse range of work experience. Ewoud'smost recent role is Medical Design Engineer at ViCentra, a position they have held since 2020. Prior to this, they were a Medical Product Engineer at UV Smart, where they were responsible for research and development of medical disinfection equipment, and working on product design from requirements to verification and validation, and developing quality documentation in preparation for CE markings & market launch. Ewoud was also key in achieving CE and ISO 13485:2016 certification (Medical Device Directive 93/42/EEC MDD). In 2019, they held the role of Junior Product Designer at Spark design & innovation, where they worked on a novel steerable micro catheter for minimal invasive surgery, developing 3D printed functional prototypes, improving controllability and researching production possibilities. In 2018, they were an MSc Graduate Intern at Centrum Orthopedie. In 2017, they held two roles: Intern at Spark design & innovation, where they worked on multiple front-end innovative design projects throughout different fields, and Sales and marketing support specialist at Genetta Climbing Gear. Ewoud began their career in 2010 as a Carpenters apprentice at www.meubelmaken.nl.

Ewoud Veltmeijer completed a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design Engineering from Delft University of Technology between 2012 and 2015. Ewoud then pursued a Minor abroad at Coventry University in Industrial and Product Design between 2014 and 2015. Finally, they obtained a Master of Science in Integrated Product Design (Medisign specialisation) from Delft University of Technology between 2016 and 2019.
