John Adamson has extensive experience in software development and leadership roles. John started their career as an Advanced Software Engineer at Altera Corp and then moved on to become the Lead Developer at Honda Racing F1, where they designed and developed proprietary CFD software. Following that, they joined Renault F1 Team as a Simulation Developer, where they were responsible for the vehicle model and key lap simulation software, leading to 18 race wins and 2 double F1 world championships.
John then transitioned to Wirth Research as the Head of Software Engineering, where they led team growth and development and planned, designed, and developed software for various racing cars. John later joined Oxford Dynamics as a Director, establishing and managing a successful start-up that provided specialist consultancy services and developed software products for Formula 1 teams and private clients.
In 2016, John joined Alpine as the Head of Software, Aerodynamics, where they built a multi-skilled software development team and led over 100 high-stakes projects to successful completion while facilitating cross-functional collaboration. During their time at Alpine, they also served as a Technical Advisor at Podium on a voluntary basis, assisting in recruiting the development team.
John's expertise was recognized by the Cabinet Office, where they worked as a Technical Architect for the Covid-19 Response. John then moved on to Vicon as a Software Delivery Director.
Throughout their career, John has demonstrated strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a track record of delivering successful projects in high-pressure environments.
John Adamson has a diverse education history. John obtained their Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Glasgow in 1999. Later, in 2000, they pursued a Master's degree in Scientific Computation from the same university. In 2021, John attended Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, where they completed a program in Executive Leadership. Currently, they are studying Technical Team Leadership at Saïd Business School and is expected to graduate in 2022.
