David Ranson

David Ranson is a seasoned forensic consultant with extensive experience at the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine since February 1988, where contributions include serving as Deputy Director and Head of Forensic Services. Ranson holds dual professorships at La Trobe University and Monash University, specializing in medical law and forensic medicine, respectively, with responsibilities spanning undergraduate and postgraduate education. Additionally, Ranson served as Medical Director for the Donor Tissue Bank of Victoria from January 1995 to January 2023 and acted as a Victorian State Councillor for the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia between 2009 and 2013.
