Hugh Birkmyre

Hugh Birkmyre has a diverse work experience spanning from 2004 to present. Hugh started as a Shift Supervisor at Morrisons, where they were responsible for public contact, basic administrative tasks, and the smooth running of the department. Hugh then worked as a Research and Development Chemist at Alphasense Ltd, focusing on the research and development of toxic gas sensors. Following that, they worked as a Chemical Analyst at Environmental Scientifics Group, where they conducted various tests on soil and water samples. Hugh then served as a Sales Team Lead at THE MARKETING COMPANY GLASGOW LIMITED, handling direct marketing for clients and supervising a team of junior staff. Hugh briefly worked as a Sales Assistant at Toys R Us before becoming an Author, publishing books under the pen name H. K. Miller. Hugh joined Victrex as a Laboratory Technician and later became a Research and Development Scientist, working on projects related to polymer innovation and managing batches for customers within the research and development function.

Hugh Birkmyre pursued their education by first attending Hamilton College Scotland from 1998 to 2004, where they obtained Highers & Advanced Highers degrees in various fields of study. Following that, they enrolled at the University of Strathclyde from 2004 to 2009 and earned an MSci degree in Forensic and Analytical Chemistry.

In addition to their formal education, Hugh Birkmyre has also obtained several certifications. These certifications were obtained from various institutions such as LinkedIn, Quality Partner, STEM Learning, IOSH, and Ionactive Consulting Limited. The certifications were obtained between February 2022 and August 2023.
