James Myers has extensive work experience in the aerospace and composites industry. James currently holds the position of Head of R&D - Aerospace & Composite Applications at Victrex since 2018. Prior to that, they served as the Head of Innovation & Technology at Fenner Group from 2016 to 2018, where they managed R&D, Applications Engineering, New Product Development, and Quality functions. Before that, they worked as the Head of Production Engineering, OE Composites at Zodiac Aerospace from 2015 to 2016, overseeing composites research and development, product industrialization, and process engineering. James also has experience as a European Aerospace Composite Engineering Supervisor and Aerospace Composite Engineering Team Lead at Greene, Tweed from 2008 to 2015, where they managed teams, developed key operating procedures, and led technical and business development activities. Prior to that, they worked as an Aerospace Engineer / Project Manager at Assystem from 2007 to 2008. James also has experience as a Technical Development Manager at C9 Products from 2004 to 2008, a Composites Development Engineer at Micris Limited from 2004 to 2007, and a Project Engineer at Haywood Rotomoulding Ltd from 2001 to 2003. James began their career as a Research Engineer at the University of Manchester.

James Myers has a diverse education history, emphasizing their expertise in engineering and composite materials. James completed their BEng(Hons) degree in Aerospace Engineering at The University of Manchester from 1997 to 2001. Following this, they pursued an MPhil in Design and Manufacture at the same institution from 2001 to 2003. James completed their educational journey with a PhD in Composite Engineering, specifically focusing on the design and manufacture of advanced composite radome structures, also at The University of Manchester, from 2004 to 2007.

In addition to their formal education, James Myers has obtained various certifications to enhance their professional qualifications. In November 2014, they became a Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS). James also earned the title of Chartered Engineer from the Engineering Council in April 2011. Finally, in the same month and year, they became a Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE). These certifications further validate their expertise and commitment to their field.
