Gary Pilafas

Gary Pilafas is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in technology and leadership roles, currently serving as a Staff Solution Engineer at VMware since April 2021, focusing on modernizing data centers and enhancing digital transformation. Gary's involvement in public service as a Village Trustee for the Village of Hoffman Estates began in 2007, where Gary previously chaired the Planning, Building, and Zoning Committee. Prior to VMware, Gary held significant positions including Senior Manager of Solution Engineering at Stefanini Group and Principal Enterprise Architect at Dell Technologies, where Gary designed multi-cloud solutions and eCommerce infrastructure. Gary's career also includes contributions as Chief Architect at Delta Air Lines, Senior Director of Hybrid Cloud Strategies at ViON Corporation, Vice President of Converged Platform Strategies at Hitachi Data Systems, and Chief Architect at United Airlines. Gary's foundational experience as a United States Marine complemented their educational background, with a Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management from Southern Illinois University.
