Becka Phillipson

Becka Phillipson, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Villanova University since August 2022, where Becka is also an NSF MPS Ascend Postdoctoral Fellow and served as the instructor for PHY 2400: Physics I for Engineers in Spring 2023. Prior to this position, Becka held a postdoctoral role at the University of Washington's Department of Astronomy and collaborated with the University of Washington eScience Institute, focusing on data science. Becka's academic journey includes being a NASA Harriett G. Jenkins Research Fellow and a Graduate Teaching Fellow at Drexel University, alongside internships at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Education credentials include a Ph.D. and an MS in Physics from Drexel University, a BS in Physics from Colorado State University, and a BA in Astronomy from the University of Colorado Boulder.
