Vimeo is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to join our Web Development team. This role will be crucial in driving complex technical initiatives, bridging the gap between various teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of our web-based projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to navigate complex, cross-functional environments.

What you'll do:

  • Lead and manage complex technical programs and initiatives for the Web Development team, working closely with Engineering, Marketing, Design, and other stakeholders
  • Act as a liaison between the Web Development team and other Engineering teams, effectively communicating needs, priorities, and technical requirements
  • Participate in technical discussions and decision-making, providing guidance without relying on engineering managers
  • Identify, debug, and resolve complex technical issues across various web technologies
  • Drive Agile methodologies, including running effective Scrum sprints and all associated ceremonies
  • Empower the marketing organization to independently build pages within our CMS by developing training programs, creating comprehensive documentation, and establishing best practices
  • Align team objectives with broader organizational goals, ensuring our web development efforts support Vimeo's overall strategy
  • Manage project dependencies, risks, and timelines to ensure successful delivery of web development initiatives
  • Facilitate collaboration between technical and non-technical teams, translating complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
  • Work effectively with external vendors, managing relationships and integrating their work into our projects
  • Contribute to long-term technical strategy and roadmap planning for the Web Development team
  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements to enhance team efficiency and productivity
  • Define and track relevant KPIs for projects and team performance, creating actionable progress reports for various stakeholders
  • Create and manage complex project structures within Jira, ensuring effective project tracking and management

Skills and knowledge you should possess:

  • 5+ years of experience in technical program management, preferably in web development or related field
  • Strong technical background as a former developer; experience in front-end / full-stack development is preferred
  • Deep understanding of web technologies, best practices, and current trends
  • Proficiency in system architecture and design
  • Ability to debug complex technical issues across various web technologies
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms; experience with Builder.io is a plus
  • Experience with Developer Experience (DX) platforms; familiarity with Vercel is a plus
  • Extensive experience applying Agile principles and running effective Scrum sprints
  • Strategic thinking skills to align team objectives with broader organizational goals
  • Advanced knowledge of project management tools, particularly Jira, including the ability to create and manage complex project structures
  • Exceptional skill in requirements gathering, documentation, and technical writing
  • Proven ability to work across departments, manage complex cross-functional initiatives, and collaborate with external vendors
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and resolve issues independently
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority
  • Experience in risk management and mitigation in technical projects
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree is a plus

Targeted Base Salary Range:  $110,700.00 to $169,500.00

The base salary range listed above is for candidates located in the U.S., including the New York City metro area.
