Mareike Wiedmann

Mareike Wiedmann, PhD has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical and academic sectors. In their current role as the Head of Research Pipeline Development at Vincerx Pharma since 2021, they oversee the development of the company's research projects. Prior to this, they worked at Bayer as a Lab Head from 2019 to 2021, where they managed laboratory operations.

From 2016 to 2018, Mareike served as a JSPS Postdoctoral Researcher at The University of Tokyo, conducting DNA-encoded library screening for the discovery of non-canonical macrocyclic peptide inhibitors. Mareike also designed and synthesized cyclic peptide analogues to improve their pharmacokinetic properties.

During their PhD studies at the University of Cambridge (2012-2016), Mareike developed sets of constrained peptide inhibitors and conducted binding studies for the protein-protein interaction of transcription factor HNF1β with Importin α. Mareike also gained teaching experience in undergraduate organic chemistry.

Additionally, they completed an internship at Domainex, where they synthesized compound libraries for drug screening, and participated in a research internship at Sinomax Solutions in Beijing, China, where they redesigned the company's website and conducted market research.

Mareike's educational background includes a Masters degree in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from the University of Oxford (2008-2012), where they focused on the synthesis of functionalized pyrrolidinones.

Mareike Wiedmann, PhD completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Cambridge from 2012 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained their Master's degree in Chemistry from the University of Oxford from 2008 to 2012. More recently, Mareike pursued additional education in the field of Business and Life Coaching at the Coaching Akademie Berlin from 2023 to 2024, and in Leadership at COA Academy from 2022 to 2023.
