THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Director of IT, SG&A Systems, the Associate Director, IT - Finance & Legal Applications (Temporary) will be the strategic technology partner to the Finance and Legal team members across the organization. You will be responsible for management of all IT Finance and Legal applications at Vir, driving a digitally enabled business in a compliant and risk-based fashion. You will take the lead in defining processes and requirements, prioritizing and delivering on technology projects and managing all implementation and support activities.

This is an office-based role located at the Vir Headquarters in San Francisco.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Partner with the Finance and Legal leadership teams, sponsors, and other partners to understand their requirements, and identify/implement “best fit” technology solutions to help improve business efficiency and quality.
  • Own, lead and maintain IT’s Finance and Legal technology roadmap
  • Lead selection, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvements of corporate business systems and integrations supporting Finance and Legal functions
  • Lead efforts in automation and integration to improve business process and maximize value from enterprise applications including Agiloft, Blackline, Concur, Coupa, Netsuite
  • Responsible for assurance of SOX compliance for financial systems and participation in ITACs/walkthroughs representing ITAC during yearly SOX audits
  • Provide systems expertise to finance partners to adopt and integrate best practices in financial business processes within IT Systems
  • Support business colleagues by creating technology roadmaps, prioritizing requests and coordinating support
  • Partner with Compliance, Information Security and IT Operations to ensure Finance and Legal systems comply with established IT policies, procedures and standards (including SOX and information security)
  • Oversee external Managed Service Providers and ensure they are operating to a high level of effectiveness

WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU BRING

  • Direct, hands-on experience with Financial and Legal applications specifically Agiloft, Blackline, Coupa, Concur, and Netsuite
  • Bachelor’s degree (and 12+ years’ experience) or Master’s degree (and 10+ years’ experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline
  • 8+ years of experience implementing and maintaining Finance and Legal enterprise business systems, with a strong preference for pharma/biotech experience
  • 8+ years leading ITGC SOX compliance in G&A systems and 5+ years of system integration and automation experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in selection and management of 3rd party Managed Services Providers
  • Demonstrated strategic problem-solving ability with strong business knowledge and ability to guide us in making good technology decisions

The expected hourly rate for this position is $81.00 to $118.51. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
