Lisa Purcell

Lisa Purcell, PhD has extensive work experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. Lisa is currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Research and Translational Medicine at Vir Biotechnology, Inc. Since December 2020, they have also held the role of VP, Microbiology and Virology / St. Louis Site Head at the same company. Prior to joining Vir Biotechnology, Inc., they worked at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from 2008 to 2020. During their time at Regeneron, they held various positions including Clinical Sciences, Respiratory and Inflammation, Senior Scientist, and Postdoctoral Researcher. Lisa also gained experience as a Postdoctoral Scientist at Columbia University Medical Center from 2007 to 2008.

Lisa Purcell, PhD, completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Honours Biology with a minor in Chemistry at the University of Prince Edward Island from 1997 to 2001. Lisa then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Ecotoxicology at the same university from 2001 to 2003. Following this, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Parasitology at McGill University from 2004 to 2007.
