Scott Schaecher, Ph.D., MBA has a diverse work experience in various roles within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Scott is currently serving as the Director of R&D IT at Vir Biotechnology, Inc. Scott previously worked at Bayer Crop Science as the Data Strategy Lead for Research and Development. In this role, they led a team focused on the development of advanced biological products for global agriculture. Scott also held the position of Head of Computational Life Sciences - Biologics, where they established core strategies for bioinformatics, genome analytics, decision science, machine learning, and data architecture for the Bayer Biologics R&D function. Scott Schaecher, Ph.D., MBA has a strong educational background. Scott earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences, with a focus on Medical Microbiology, from the University of California, Davis in 2001. Following this, they pursued a Ph.D. in Molecular Microbiology at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, completing their studies in 2008. Scott then further enriched their education by obtaining a Masters in Business Administration from the Washington University in St. Louis - Olin Business School between 2011 and 2014.
