Maria Catalina Sevillano Rivera, EIT, Ph. D., is a Data Fellow at Virga Labs since July 2022, where contributions include developing backend infrastructure for modeling and data visualization tools focused on the Colorado River Basin. Prior to this role, Maria participated in the selective Data Science for All fellowship, enhancing data cleaning and visualization skills. With extensive research experience, including a Ph.D. from Northeastern University, Maria has processed significant amounts of metagenomic data and conducted various laboratory analyses across multiple institutions, including the University of Puerto Rico and MIT. Academic credentials also encompass a Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez.
