Derek Taylor

Derek Taylor is an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor at Virgin Atlantic since February 2019, overseeing a team of up to 40 engineers and technicians in the maintenance of Airbus A330, A340, A350, and Boeing 787 aircraft. Prior to this role, Derek held key positions such as Duty Maintenance Control Manager at Airbus, managing the RAF's A400M fleet, Technical Engineer at British Airways focusing on aircraft safety and performance, and Senior Technical Services Engineer at Cathay Pacific, where management of the 747-400 and 747-8F Maintenance Programs was paramount. Derek's extensive career also includes positions as a Maintenance Control Engineer at Virgin Atlantic and as an Avionics Certifying Engineer at British Airways, as well as foundational experience as an Air Communications/Radar Engineer in the Royal Air Force. Derek's background is complemented by a secondary education at Marlborough School Woodstock from 1975 to 1980.
