Richard Paterson

Richard Paterson serves as the Head of Transformation and Operations at Virgin Australia since July 2021, having previously held the role of Head of Finance and Senior Manager for Group Strategy and Planning within the same organization. Prior experience includes a position as Manager of Aviation Support at the Australian Trade and Investment Commission during the COVID-19 pandemic, overseeing the International Freight Assistance Mechanism. Other notable roles include Senior Manager of Operations at Uber, Senior Manager of Group Strategy at Lufthansa Group, and various positions in finance and strategy at Jetstar Airways. Richard holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Strategy from RMIT University and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance, Economics, and International Business from The Australian National University.
