Paul Knox is the current Dean of the Honors College at Virginia Tech. Paul has over fifteen years of experience in business analysis and project management.
Knox started their career as a Senior Business Consultant with Fujitsu, where they worked on several high-profile projects, including the implementation of Oracle Applications for Linksys, Sherwin-Williams, Ligand Pharmaceuticals, and Logitech. Paul also led the upgrade of Infonet's Oracle Purchasing Applications from 10.7 to 11.5.8, which included the implementation of Internet Procurement and Internet Expense.
In 2007, Knox joined Cisco Systems / Linksys as a Senior Business Analyst. Paul managed IT projects for Finance, and was responsible for the successful implementation of iExpense, iProcurement, and iSupplier Portal Application 11.5.9. Paul also conducted all executive level training sessions and interfaced with all levels of the organization, from the executive committee to end-users.
In 2013, Knox left Cisco Systems / Linksys to become the Dean of the Honors College at Virginia Tech. In this role, they are responsible for the academic success of over 4,000 students and manages a budget of over $8 million. Paul has continued to build on their reputation as an effective leader and manager, and has been instrumental in increasing the college's graduation rate and expanding its reach to students from all backgrounds.
Paul Knox has a BA in Biology from Oakland University.
They are on a team with Daniel Givens - Dean of the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, Ron Fricker - Interim Dean of the College of Science, and G. Don Taylor - Executive Vice Provost. Their manager is Cyril Clarke, Executive Vice President and Provost.
