Will Liu, Ph.D. has worked in the biotechnology field since 2007. In 2010, they obtained their Ph.D. from the BC Cancer Agency - Terry Fox Laboratory & UBC. Will then went on to obtain their Masters degree from The University of British Columbia in 2007. In 2016, they began working at Virogin Biotech as a Director of Discovery Projects/Senior Manager of Product Process Development. In this role, they were in charge of early discovery activities and organizing and supervising discovery projects. Will was also in charge of product process development, including process development of oncolytic virus production and production of highly-purified oncolytic virus for GLP toxicology studies. Will also served as a Research/CMC Scientist, Lead in Discovery Projects and Product Process Development, in which they were in charge of CMC activities including process development of oncolytic virus production, production of highly-purified oncolytic virus for GLP toxicology studies, and communication with CROs/CMOs for CMC activities. Prior to this role, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher, during which they designed and produced recombinant proteins for antibody generation, screened for, verified and produced a variety of antibodies including nanobodies and bispecific antibodies, and decorated oncolytic viruses with a variety of technologies.
Will Liu, Ph.D. attended Coquitlam College from 2002 to 2004. Will then attended The University of British Columbia from 2004 to 2016, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Masters of Science (M.Sc), and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, with a focus on Cancer Research. Additionally, they obtained a Chemical Safety Certificate and a Biosafety Certificate from The University of British Columbia and the BC Cancer Research Center.
