Susan Blackburn has over 30 years of experience in the medical field. Susan began their career in 1987 as the Director of Nursing/Special Projects Coordinator at Anderson Area Medical Center. In 2001, they moved to Unival Inc. as a Hedis Nurse Reviewer. In 2002, they became a Clinical Research Coordinator at the VA Hospital. From 2003 to 2018, they worked as a Clinical Research Project Manager/Coordinator Section Vascular Surgery at the University of Michigan. In 2018, they joined Michigan Medicine as a Project/Portfolio Manager -Clinical Trials Support Unit. Most recently, in 2020, they started working at Virtual Incision Corp as a Clinical Research Project Manager/Clinical Research Associate.

Susan Blackburn received their MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1987, with a Health Care concentration. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Connecticut in 1983.
