Lee Bakerman

Chief People Officer at Virtus Health

Lee joined Virtus Health in August 2020 to develop and lead the People and Culture function across the group. Lee has over 20 years of executive level experience, leading the people and culture function across a variety of multi-national organisations.

Prior to joining Virtus, Lee spent six years with Broadspectrum (now Ventia) overseeing HR and Industrial Relations related workstreams for tendering and transition activities for major contracts across the group. In addition, Lee led the Human Resources function for the group’s Defence and Social Infrastructure sector, delivering essential contracting services through a team of over 5000 employees across Australia and New Zealand. Prior to that, Lee spent a decade in the power and electrical contracting sectors as Vice President Human Resources in roles spanning Asia Pacific for AREVA T&D, Alstom T&D and Norfolk Group Limited.

Lee’s strategic and commercial approach to HR and his passion for developing organisational capability has seen him lead several transformation programs across 13 countries.

Lee is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Master’s Degree in People and Organisational Management from Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris, a leading European business school. Lee has lived in six countries and is fluent in four languages.
